A shirt mockup is useful for showing how an idea should look, but the mockup itself is not always the file that should be printed. A preview may contain a shirt background, shadows, perspective, low-resolution artwork, or several design elements combined into one flattened image.
DTFera provides ready-to-press DTF transfers for customers in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, with no minimum order requirement. Turning the visual idea into clean production artwork before ordering can help the finished transfer match the design you actually intended.
A mockup can show where a logo belongs, how large a back graphic should feel, or how several design elements work together on a garment.
But many mockups are created only for presentation. They may include the shirt itself, fabric texture, lighting, shadows, or perspective that should never become part of the transfer.
Before uploading artwork, identify the actual graphic that needs to be printed and separate it from the visual presentation.
If a mockup shows more than one print placement, treat those graphics separately.
A small front logo and a larger back design may appear together in one preview image, but they are usually two individual transfers with their own dimensions and quantities.
Prepare the actual artwork for each placement instead of uploading a screenshot of the full shirt mockup.
A mockup can make a design appear larger or smaller depending on how the image was created.
Do not rely only on the visual scale of the preview. Choose the actual transfer dimensions based on the garment, placement, and finished look you want.
Once the size is decided, prepare the artwork at those final intended dimensions so resolution and detail can be evaluated correctly.
The production artwork should contain the design you want transferred onto the garment.
Check for unwanted elements such as:
If those elements are only part of the presentation, they should not remain in the final transfer file.
Some mockups bend or distort artwork so it appears to follow the shape of a shirt in a photo.
That can look realistic in a presentation, but the actual transfer artwork generally needs to be prepared as the intended flat design.
Do not intentionally print perspective distortion just because the preview image uses it to simulate fabric or garment shape.
If the finished apparel concept includes several separate transfer elements, the DTF Gang Sheet Builder can help arrange those production-ready graphics together.
The builder uses a 22-inch-wide print area and can contain multiple designs or transfer sizes on the same sheet.
For example, the mockup may show a small front logo, larger back design, and another secondary graphic. Once each element is prepared separately, those transfers can be arranged together when that setup fits the project.
If the mockup leads to one final design and you only need multiple copies at one individual transfer size, DTF Transfers by Size may be the simpler ordering method.
Choose an available individual transfer size, upload the finished artwork, and select the quantity needed.
You do not need to create a gang sheet when one clean production graphic is all the project requires.
Extracting a graphic from a small screenshot or mockup does not automatically create a high-quality production file.
For standard raster artwork, a high-resolution PNG with a transparent background is generally preferred when transparency is needed. Aim for approximately 300 DPI at the final intended print size.
Simply changing a low-resolution image to 300 DPI does not recreate detail that was already missing.
Inspect lettering, edges, fine details, transparency, and unwanted pixels before ordering. If possible, return to the original design file instead of enlarging artwork taken from a small preview image.

A presentation image may show one type of shirt while the actual project uses another garment or fabric.
DTF transfers are commonly used on cotton, polyester, cotton/poly blends, and many other compatible materials.
Nylon, coated fabrics, dye-sublimated garments, heat-sensitive materials, performance apparel, and unfamiliar specialty fabrics may require testing or adjusted press conditions.
Base the pressing process on the real garment you are using, not simply on the garment shown in the mockup.
If you have already separated the production artwork and built the complete gang sheet, use the Print-Ready Gang Sheet Upload.
This option is for an already-completed gang sheet. Before uploading, confirm the final artwork, dimensions, transparency, quantities, and layout.
